Consultation What is it? This will be your initial visit to Chicago Prostate Cancer Center (CPCC). As with any initial doctor's visit, forms must be filled out and insurance cards and referrals must be brought in. Family members are welcome to accompany you. If, at any point after your visit to CPCC, there are unanswered questions, feel free to give us a call and speak to one of our staff members. Prior to meeting with the radiation oncologist, a staff member will review your medical history. Please bring a list of medications with you. The doctor will perform a digital rectal exam (DRE) during this visit. The doctor will discuss his recomendations for treatment after reviewing your PSA (prostate specific antigen), biopsy report, rectal exam findings and medical history. If the decision is made by you and the radiation oncologist to proceed, an appointment will be made for your prostate volume study.
